This Is A Do Follow Blog

WordPress and other blogs have “No Follow” as their defaul setting for reader comments.  Bloggers (and others) love “Do Follow” blogs, because they can get links back to their own sites.  However, the blog owner needs to install a plugin to allow this to happen.  The down side of doing this is spam posts and excessive links in posts.  This blog has been set up with a “Do Follow” plugin.  WordPress itself has been configured to allow two links per post and the posts are moderated.   I appreciate comments and want to share some link love as long as I a not spammed to death. We will see how it goes.  So enjoy!!

    Hi Lionmom,

If you don’t already have it, I highly recommend you install the Akismet plugin. It’s been great at keeping the spam at bay for me. Rarely has it made a mistake and you can easily correct anything that it thought was spam but isn’t. Plus, I don’t have to worry about moderating comments on my blog.

I look forward to more of your posts : )

    Hi Rochelle,

Good to see you here! I have instaled the Akismet plugin. So it has worked for you in keeping spam at bay? I will consider un-moderating it. On the other hand, it is a good way to make sure I don’t miss any comments 🙂

I am having fun exploring some of the other plugins!!

Yes, the Akismet plugin has kept the spay at bay. I was going to say at a minimum but I haven’t had a single spam email slip past this plugin. As of today it has caught almost 900 spam emails. Not too shabby!

The only times I’ve missed comments has been when my inbox has been stuffed to the gills and I’ve overlooked something (I get emails whenever my blog gets a comment).

P.S. Is there a link for subscribing to your blog for email updates, such as through Feedburner?

Sorry I missed your post. There isn’t one yet. I plan to get the plugin and plug it in. I’ll keep you posted.
